Adulting: An extreme sport Caught between being an adult and still feeling like a kid who's just having a lot of responsibilities? Let's share our experiences and our twenties journey while slowly approaching dirty thirties😁

How often do you sit and ponder about the rapid change of your life from childhood to adulthood? Most of us thought adulthood comes with freedom but more than anything we were never prepared of the truckloads of responsibilities and the decisions that needed to be made by us. After so many years of obtaining the adulthood badge it still hasn’t quite sunk that I have to do all these things all by myself, I’m still just a baby(well only in my mind).

I sometimes feel like our parents sold us dreams, they made this adult thing seem more about authority which then camouflaged the hardships that comes with it. We all wanted to leave our houses without explaining ourselves, we wanted the freedom of doing as we please but little did we know that all is not as it seems.

We thought being employed meant affording all the things we desired; lavish homes, fancy and fast cars, travelling the world and so forth. I doubt any of us ever thought of bills, maintenance and sustainability of this imaginary life we had in mind neither did we even think of the toxicity of our working environments. No one enlightened us about this, it was made to look so effortless and desirable.

Paying rent, insurance policies, car installments the list goes on and hey how expensive is food? Did I mention that at some point you also just want to change your old furniture because your place gets dull over time? There are also those little expenses in-between that will have you counting fingers wondering where your money went. Being an adult is an extreme sport that none of us were prepared for or at least me and a few others lol.
